Even if the hot, dry weather keeps up the Qu’Appelle chain of lakes will remain higher than their normal levels due to the flooding.
“I would expect a lot of these Qu’Appelle lakes, in the system there, will be high for the rest of the summer,” said Patrick Boyle with the Water Security Agency.
Most of those lakes, including Last Mountain Lake, Crooked Lake and Round Lake, have peaked and remain about a metre higher than the desirable summer levels.
